  • As a seven-year-old with a large extended family, it was unusual for Omi to single me out with my own Christmas Advent card, but this made it all the more special.
  • A star, a trumpet, a lamb, some days were more exciting than others but each new trinket would delight me nonetheless.
  • The new style of Advent calendars may seem like a deviation from the tradition of daily chocolate, but the Advent calendar first had a religious and spiritual significance.
  • Perhaps it’s anticipation for the coming of Christ, or anticipation of family and togetherness.
  • Either way, the appeal of the Advent calendar lies not in the unveiling of tiny treasures, but in the anticipation for each new day, and Christmas Day ahead.
